Abroad

Where to call in case of emergency while I am abroad?

In case of emergency, call 112. You will be connected to the local emergency service. To receive consular assistance abroad, call the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia: +37126337711.

Information about the emergency services and emergency alert apps in the EEA countries is available here.

How can I contact LMT while I am abroad?

Call us from abroad on +37129319911 – you will not be charged for this call.
Or send us an e-mail:  info@lmt.lv.

What are LMT-friendly networks and why should I choose them?

LMT-friendly networks allow to save on calls abroad, so we recommend using the automatic network selection mode – then in most cases the phone will connect to an LMT friendly network.

How can the visually impaired receive information about foreign tariffs?

When individuals with Group I or Group II vision impairments register in a foreign network, we can provide information about tariffs by phone – we will call from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. local time. These calls are free of charge!

This option can be activated at any LMT Customer Centre by producing a disability certificate.

How can I choose a mobile network?

When you switch on your phone within the LMT network coverage area, one of the LMT network names, e.g. LMT, will appear on the screen.
This means that the phone has successfully registered with the LMT network. When abroad, the phone performs similar actions, choosing a foreign network instead of the LMT network.

You can choose the network automatically or manually, but we recommend using the automatic mode. This is designed to ensure that your phone maintains constant network coverage in the respective country and selects LMT friendly networks.

The manual mode can be used if the phone does not select the network automatically. When choosing the network manually, it may happen that registration in the chosen network fails and the selection has to be made multiple times.

When your phone has successfully registered with the foreign operator's network, the name or code of the selected network will appear on the screen.

Please note!

  • In border areas networks of operators from several countries may overlap.
  • You can only select or change the network in the phone's standby mode, but not during a call.
  • Network selection settings may vary between different phone models, so we recommend consulting the phone's user manual.
What should I do if my phone with a SIM card is lost or stolen abroad?

If your phone is lost or stolen abroad, contact us immediately (24/7) by calling +37129319911 or sending an e-mail to info@lmt.lv.
Remember that the police should be informed about the theft!

If someone misuses your phone, the costs will keep accruing without any notice (we encourage to report lost phones as soon as possible).

When you return to Latvia, come to the closest LMT customer centre – we will give you a new SIM card.
